Carbon insetting for processers and growers

Carbon insetting is an investment by your company in techniques and methods for reducing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses directly in your operation and across the supply chain.

Commited to change

AgroScout is committed to the United Nations’ 17 Principles for Sustainable Development by providing our customers with the necessary tools to reduce their own carbon emissions throughout their crop production.

Carbon insetting is the process for incorporating techniques and methods for reducing carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses directly into your operation.

Whereas with carbon offsetting where a carbon producer pays another carbon producer to reduce their emissions, thereby offsetting total GHG production, with carbon insetting, the emission reduction takes place along the internal production line.

Benefits

Active monitoring for reducing chemical inputs per parcel.

> Increase yield efficiency per unit  compared with benchmarking

> Monitor cover crops across the whole year

> Incorporate carbon reducing processes into your overall operation

What is carbon insetting?

Carbon insetting is an investment by your company in emissions reduction projects within the supply chain. In contrast to emissions reduction in external climate protection projects (carbon offset projects), climate protection money remains within your company’s value creation cycle.

How it works

AgroScout’s precision agronomy tools help farmers decrease their carbon footprint while increasing yields, saving money and strengthening global food security.

By utilizing the AgroScout platform to monitor field health from the beginning of the growing season through harvest, they are able to reach their own sustainability goals, including:

Insetting refers to a company offsetting its emissions through a carbon offset project within its own value chain. In contrast to a typical carbon offset project, emissions are avoided, reduced or sequestered upstream or downstream within the company’s own value chain.
